Jasmine Alexandra O
Jasmine Alexandra is an imaginative realist working in oil, digital art, and mixed media from Thousand Oaks, CA. Her style is a mixture of everything, but her earlier inspiration was from Renaissance Art and science fiction fantasy. The blend of drama and intrigue created by pigments dominates her spirit. She loves art because it’s not just something one sees, it's more how one feels. How the art just fills one with happiness and thrills. Her passion is to experience and portray emotion of the subject. She likes to paint people and animals as her subjects in wonderous fantasy, sometimes set against familiar or foreign landscapes. When painting her subject, like a woman, she is looking for the depth of grace and form and color that can evoke emotions such as nervousness or excitement at first glance.
Imaginative realism is when one creates a world in which the impossible exist. A world where magic dwells and there are leaders and heroes that are very wise. Or perhaps a world where there is a long-lost city that is very beautiful. All these things are possible in our imagination; therefore, they are real in our minds. For her, “imaginative realism” equals “escapism.”
